WHAT I WORE
Fashion from the decades of the 20th century will continue to inspire future generations to come. These were the days that women were beginning to express themselves, and fashion was a driving medium for doing so. I’ve always been drawn to 70s fashion, as it channels my free spirit and love for nature – did somebody say flower power?! From delicate, lacey floral bow blouses, to cutwork crop tops and high-waisted denim, bell sleeves to suede mini-skirts, dare I say faux-fur and flares, the 70s is back and not going anywhere (at least in Austin, as it never really left in the first place).
When I style a look, I always try to juxtapose – for example, modern and vintage, or feminine and masculine. I love the delicacy of the Taylor Moseley gold jewelry in contrast to the more masculine Jord wood watch. Upcylced denim from my mom’s closet mixed with classic leather staples and suede booties bring this look sophistication with just the right amount of edge. So go ahead, take a peak in your mom’s closet – she may have just the vintage feels your looking for to rock this easy going, feminine boho look OR head to the thrift store OR to my 70s vibes pinterest board here. ✌
