Caradisegno attempts to unveil the parallel concepts in fashion, architecture, art, and nature that influence our culture and ultimately shape humanity. These are practices that expand our sensibilities and help us understand the spirit of our time. Architects must have the ability to synthesize these cultural forces because architecture is a public art, or an art for the people. My Italian grandma named me Cara, which means dear, valuable, or precious and I have found that by looking at design with a kind, gentle and open minded lens, I am able to discover how design that embodies the word cara, or Caradisegno, can bring beauty to our everyday lives.
