The diagram. A word too often heard in the realm of architectural design. To me, a diagram is a simplification of a concept or idea. Yet, sometimes discovering the essence of an idea becomes all too complex when one gets lost trying to connect the various theoretical relationships conveyed in the diagram. If a diagram is truly a diagram, it stands strong throughout the design process by accepting and growing from practical considerations and criticism. If successful, this beautiful process of abstraction is captured in a physical reality called architecture.
