Love this mural on South First Street just about as much as I love my grandma's vintage Gucci Boston bag. When recently asked in class what would be the first thing we would grab if our house set fire, I proudly explained why I would take my Mimsy's bag. It is just one of those bags that transcends time and trends. Everything about it reminds me of my grandma and her Italian heritage. It even smells like her. The best pieces of clothing, of art, and of architecture are those that embrace the spirit of their time, but have the ability to last forever. If only I knew how old this painting is.
