The only constant in Austin is change. Our dear old hippie oasis is always in a state of flux, like the parking lot in these photos. Almost everyday an old building is demolished in preparation for something grand and new. Why can't we keep the old or at least try to merge it with the new? Let's learn from our European neighbors and start building cities that last for centuries instead of decades - it would make our cities a whole lot richer.
It's my intent that my wardrobe can speak a little to this. I've found a lot of hidden treasures in my grandma, god mother, and mom's closet (the Coach bag and mom shorts featured in this post) that integrate tradition and recycling trends. In this respect, building a wardrobe is much like building a city. Strategic gradual development is key and investing in quality can go a long way.
